What is an ashram?

The Ashram is a place where spiritual teachings are lived and conveyed. Here residents and visitors can take refuge in spiritual practice, which is lived together in a daily service routine.

In addition to the local services here, one of our main activities at Vinoda Vani Seva Ashram is the publishing of audio, video and online content in German, Spanish and English.

Tradition

Veda

Vedic scriptures such as Bhagavat Gita, Srimad Bhagavatam, Upanisads and others are sources of spiritual knowledge and one of the three pillars of our tradition.

Teacher

Teachers have listened to the explanations of the scriptures given by other teachers, and have followed their instructions. In this way they qualified themselves to teach others.

Association

Association means exchange and coexistence with people who seek to put knowledge into practice, with a view to deepening it.

What do we believe in?

  • Our sensory perception and the ability to think and draw conclusions are not enough to recognize life in its full depth. We are so conditioned by material happiness and suffering that we are unable to understand the causes and working principles of the world.
  • Knowledge which does not arise from this conditioned state, but manifests itself through scriptures, teachers and saints and triggers a spontaneous personal transformation within us is called revelation. In the light of this revelation, we can see that there is an eternal spiritual reality and a transient worldly actuality, each of which we relate to with our eternal soul and mortal body.
  • Human life can be brought to perfection by sincerely following the path taught and practiced by teachers, scriptures and saints, and thus building a consciously lived relationship with all that is transitory and to eternity.
  • Recognizing God as the origin of all being and ourselves as His eternal servant is the basis of an authentic spirituality freed from dogma and religious fanaticism, which is accomplished with pure love for God, respect for creation and compassion for all creatures.
  • All people live according to their awareness and beliefs. In order to enable a respectful and just living together, morality and more secular laws are required.
  • You are obliged to comply with the law. You are brought up to morality. While being given faith is a gift. This faith is free from worldly conditions and it is not allowed, nor can it be forced or taken from anyone.
